God’s love is on the move.

God made us. Sin separated us from Him. Jesus came to save us, and calls us to repent and believe.

Two thousand years ago, because of His great love, God sent His Son into the world: an outbreak of love that not even death could stop. Today, God’s love is on the move, and it is moving toward you. The story unfolds in five movements, and it ends with a question only you can answer.

In the Beginning.

“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.”

Acts 17:24–25

More Scripture: Genesis 1:1; John 1:1–3

This world is not an accident, and neither are you. God made everything for Himself, and made us in His image, but our rebellion against Him broke that relationship and fractured His good creation. Yet God did not abandon what He made; in Christ, He set a rescue in motion. We will return to how Paul’s sermon ends a little later.

The Greatest Love Story in Five Movements

What Did Jesus Do?

Hand-drawn arrow pointing down — He Came
01

He Came.

God didn’t stay distant. He stepped into our world to rescue us.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 1:14

More Scripture: Luke 19:10; Philippians 2:6–7; Galatians 4:4–5.

At just the right time, the eternal Son of God stepped into our broken world. He was born as a real man, Jesus of Nazareth, and lived without sin, the perfect life none of us could live. He came down on a rescue mission, looking for the lost. That means He came looking for you and me.

Hand-drawn cross — He Died
02

He Died.

We all have sin that separates us from God, so Jesus took our place.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

More Scripture: 1 Peter 3:18; Isaiah 53:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Our sin separates us from a holy God, and the penalty for sin is death. On the cross, Jesus took our place, the righteous One dying for the unrighteous, paying in full a debt we could never pay. Jesus died for the sins of the world, and everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness and eternal life. The cross is the proof of how far God’s love will go to bring you to Himself and give you new life.

Hand-drawn rising arch — He Rose
03

He Rose.

Jesus didn’t stay dead. He rose again, proving His power over sin and death.

“…that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”

1 Corinthians 15:3–4

More Scripture: Romans 6:9; 1 Peter 1:3; Romans 6:4.

On the third day the tomb was empty. The resurrection is God’s public declaration that Jesus is the Son of God, that His sacrifice for sin was accepted, and that death has been defeated. Because Jesus conquered death, everyone who trusts Him will be raised to life with Him too.

Hand-drawn arrow pointing up — He Ascended
04

He Ascended.

He returned to heaven, where He intercedes for us and prepares our place.

“Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”

Hebrews 7:25

More Scripture: Acts 1:9; Psalm 68:18; Acts 2:33.

Jesus didn’t simply vanish from history. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, the place of highest honor and authority, where He reigns as living Lord and intercedes for everyone who trusts Him. Right now, this moment, He is praying for His people. And from heaven He poured out the Holy Spirit on His people, so God Himself now lives in everyone who belongs to Him.

Hand-drawn arrow descending — He’s Coming Back
05

He’s Coming Back!

He promised to return and make everything right, so we live with hope and urgency.

“This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:11

More Scripture: John 14:3; Revelation 22:12; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Titus 2:13.

History is not drifting. It is heading somewhere. The same Jesus who came in humility will return in glory. He will judge the world in righteousness and gather His people to Himself forever. His return is a promise, and it makes today’s question urgent: are you ready to meet Him?

What Will You Do?

When the Apostle Paul stood before the thinkers of Athens on Mars Hill, he told them this same story, and he did not leave them wondering what God expects:

“The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

— Acts 17:30–31

When Paul finished, the crowd in Athens split three ways, and people respond the same way today. Some mocked and walked away. Some were curious but put the decision off for another day. Some believed, turned from their old life, trusted the risen Christ, and were never the same. Scoffing does not make the news untrue, delay is a decision, and no one is promised tomorrow. Only one response receives the forgiveness God offers: turn to Christ and believe.

Repent and believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.

God now commands all people everywhere to repent. He has appointed a day when He will judge the world in righteousness through Jesus Christ, whom He raised from the dead.

To repent means to turn from sin, self-rule, and unbelief, and to turn to God with a surrendered heart.

To believe means to trust Jesus Christ completely: His death for your sins, His resurrection from the dead, and His power to save all who come to God through Him.

“To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Acts 10:43

A Prayer to Pray

You can call on the Lord honestly from your heart:

Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against You. I believe You died for my sins and rose again from the dead. I turn from my sin and put my trust in You. Forgive me, save me, and make me new. I surrender my life to You. Amen.

These words are not a formula. What matters is a sincere heart that turns to Jesus in repentance and faith.

What happens now?

The moment you turn to Christ, God forgives you and comes to live in you. He gives you His Holy Spirit to make you new from the inside, to assure your heart that you truly belong to Him, and to give you the power to follow Jesus. God Himself now lives in you.

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.”

John 14:16–17

More Scripture: Acts 2:38; Romans 8:11; Ephesians 1:13–14
